Liloppi ALMA – Italian merino yarn with a chunky tweed effect

Liloppi ALMA is a distinctive Italian yarn for knitters and crocheters who love premium fibres and garments with plenty of character.

Its base contains 93% merino wool, blended with 3% silk and 4% viscose. The result is a soft, pleasant yarn that feels comfortable against the skin without the typical scratchy sensation some wool yarns can have. The solid-colour base is scattered with colourful neps, creating a bold chunky tweed effect.

The neps are what give ALMA its personality. They add colour and texture directly to the yarn, so even a simple stitch pattern becomes visually interesting.

Soft merino with a distinctive tweed character

Liloppi ALMA is a worsted/aran-weight yarn, with 75 m per 50 g. It can be knitted or crocheted using 4.5–6 mm needles or hooks. Its weight makes it a great choice for relatively quick projects, while the finished fabric remains soft, substantial and beautifully textured. ALMA looks wonderful in simple stitches, but it can also be used for textured designs – the colourful neps add an extra layer of interest to cables, moss stitch and other textured patterns.

How much yarn do you need?

Each ball contains 50 g / 75 m. Approximately 12 balls (600 g) are enough for a relaxed-size M sweater. Actual yarn requirements will vary depending on the garment size, shape, stitch pattern and individual tension.
