Rosa Pomar Pegulhal yarn is a proposal of organic wool. This is a specific yarn consisting of a mixture of Bordaleira wool from Serra da Estrela with an admixture of Portuguese merino. The thickness and twist of the fiber have been specially designed for jacquard work, typical of projects dedicated to Shetland yarns.

Wool is not bleached and does not contain silicone-based softeners. Wool may contain plant residues (as in Liloppi Luna). After washing, the yarn opens and softens. The manufacturer recommends making a sample and washing it before making the selected design.

The breeding of Portuguese sheep, from which wool is produced, is animal-friendly - the animals live in natural conditions, mulesing is not practiced.
