Gotland sheep are a breed prized for their extremely fine, light and warm wool with natural shades ranging from silver to ash to deep graphite. They are the only sheep whose fleece is truly gray in color, without the need for dyeing. The natural sheen of their wool gives the finished yarn a subtle luster and exceptional depth of color. It accepts dyes perfectly, resulting in saturated, harmonious hues, while retaining its unique shimmer.

This year's batch of Gotland DK is the fruit of collaboration with three carefully selected farms in Gloucester, Hampshire and Galloway. At Blacker YArns, they ensure that each fiber is ethically sourced and meets the highest quality standards. It then goes to the company's spinning mill in Cornwall, where it goes through the entire spinning and finishing process. This ensures that every Gotland DK pretzel is perfected down to the smallest detail - from the first stage of production to the carefully finished yarn, ready to create something unique.
